A Mouse in the Corner
by Robert Becker
A mouse in the corner
views things we don’t see
and luckily can’t speak
leaving secrets safe to be.
No cell phone camera
with which to spy
no bribes to levy
no testimony to decry.
Spiderwebs woven
hang everywhere
a tangled web
left to hang in the air.
And so the mouse
scurries about
hiding . . . out of trouble
safely devout.
